About Janet

Janet grew up on a small farm in southeast Nebraska near Liberty, where she developed a strong work ethic and deep appreciation for rural life. She completed her early education at Liberty Public School and graduated from Barneston Public School. As the oldest of two children, her roots in agriculture remain strong, with her family continuing to care for the family farm.

Janet began her healthcare career as a Certified Nursing Assistant before pursuing nursing, earning her Registered Nurse Diploma from Bryan School of Nursing. She advanced her education through the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing, where she completed her BSN and MSN, becoming a dually certified Family Practice and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She maintains dual certification and has built a diverse career as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.

Her professional experience spans private practice, rural hospitals, developmental care, corrections, and the Lincoln VA, where she helped introduce psychiatric telehealth services to veterans in Nebraska and southwest Iowa. She also previously owned and operated New Beginnings Behavioral Health clinic and has served in leadership roles.

A lifelong Nebraskan, Janet is committed to serving her community. She has been actively involved in education and youth programs, including volunteering in local schools, serving three terms on the TriCounty Board of Education (including as President), and has experience in 4-H leadership.

Janet married Eugene Bock in 1989, and together they dedicated their lives to the family farm. They have two adult children. Following Eugene’s passing in 2024, Janet continues to help maintain the farm with the support of family and community, further strengthening her connection to agriculture and rural life.
